Open seven days a week, the heart of the experience at The Trading Route is defined by our rotisserie ovens and house-baked focaccia. Is this the best lunch in Manchester city centre? We certainly think so, but we will let you be the final judge.

Whether you need a quick bite on the go or want to settle in for a long lunch with a few drinks, we have exactly what you need. While our rotisserie is busy slow-roasting whole and half chickens to be carved to order, we also offer a full food menu. Our Beer Bites are genuine show-stealers in their own right, particularly the rotisserie potatoes served with pecorino and garlic aioli – but our sandwiches remain the ultimate Manchester lunch staple.

Our sandwich range has something for everyone –  from The Veggie featuring smoked and seasoned portobello mushroom with chicki’churri, to The Dog with bratwurst, gherkins, and beer salt crumb, each is perfect for a lunch time treat. You can also tuck into The Corrie, a coronation chicken blend with pineapple and rocket, or The Classic, our signature sandwich loaded with chicken pistachio pesto and chicken fat mayo. Every one is served on our fresh house-baked focaccia and available daily from noon.

If you have time to linger – or, if not, skip the main entirely, as our puddings take some beating: choose between a zesty key lime pie or a traditional Manchester tart. Naturally, our full bar is open if you are staying a while, featuring Manchester Union lager straight from the brewery alongside fine wines and a curated cocktail list.

Whether it is a catch-up with mates, a working lunch, or a casual afternoon in town, The Trading Route has you covered. We always encourage booking, but we keep space for walk-ups too. You will find us at Manchester Goods Yard, just a short stroll from AVIVA Studios in the heart of Enterprise City. We are open from the crack of dawn for breakfast, and the taps stay flowing until late in our European-inspired beer hall.
